our philosophy

At The Green Collective, we believe in a holistic approach to health and wellness. What you put on your plate is only a small piece of the puzzle. Your mental health, your relationships, your spirituality, your goals are equally as important. We never advocate for dieting or restricting. Instead, believe in sustainable lifestyle changes that make you feel your best. Healthy eating can and should be delicious, accessible, and enjoyable. We’re here to take the guesswork out of nutritious eating so that you can show up and feel great in every aspect of your life.

In addition to serving and supporting our customers, we are committed to bettering our community and our planet. We vow to bring the community together through events, partnerships, education, and charitable action. Likewise, we take the green in our name very seriously and have taken the steps to protect and preserve our planet. We have structured our business to reduce energy usage, food waste, and packaging waste. In fact, all of our to-go ware is 100% compostable or reusable!

our origin

Allison Rifkin co-founded The Green Collective Eatery after going through her own health journey. Diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid condition in 2014, Allison struggled with a myriad of frustrating symptoms that traditional medication did not relieve. She began to explore books, articles, podcasts, and studies on the impact of diet on autoimmune disorders and discovered the healing power of healthy eating.

Allison nixed processed food and gluten and instead, opted for a mostly organic whole food diet. The results were drastic: improved focus, boundless energy, clearer skin, to name a few. She was hooked and felt inspired to pursue wellness and nutrition further. In 2019, Allison returned to school to earn her health coaching certificate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, and shortly after left her marketing job to found The Green Collective Eatery.

Jamie Rifkin, Allison’s sister and co-founder has also struggled with autoimmune thyroid disease and has followed Allison in engaging in her own health journey. Jamie loves to eat healthy but also loves a slice of cake now and then.  It’s all about balance, right? Jamie has been the voice of reason on making sure the menu is approachable and delicious!  Jamie brings a background of graphic design, interior design, copywriting, and business strategy to the Green Collective team.

Allison and Jamie partnered with Lauren Egdahl, a professional chef with a Masters in Nutrition and Integrative Health, and together they developed the organic, sustainable, and superfood charged menu that we are proud to offer today. We look forward to welcoming you to The Green Collective and cheering you on wherever you may be on your health journey!
